Leave it to Mad Men's January Jones (who totally should have been nominated for her performance last season) to wear one of the evening's most interesting gowns. Jones' Versace sweetheart dress with metallic cut-out detail is a real designer's dress. Thank goodness for this woman.

Dexter's Jennifer Carpenter (who, coincidentally, is married to the show's lead actor, Michael C. Hall) was a vision in black and nude at the Emmy Awards. Her stunning beaded creation is the work of designer Zuhair Murad. Carpenter probably could have been a model, had she not chosen to attend Juilliard. This dress makes her look like a work of art.

There is nothing but perfection about Olivia Wilde at the 2009 Emmy Awards - and she didn't even play it safe. Her white Marchesa gown is edgy and classic at once, a true red carpet feat. I'm not usually a fan of the faux nude look, but on someone as statuesque as Olivia, it works. Her makeup is, as always, gorgeous and simple - slightly smoky makeup sets off her stunning eyes. Simple drop earrings and an uncomplicated updo complete the look.

I love Rose Byrne. And I love her sparkling, nude Valentino dress. Ms. Byrne, who stars in the much-lauded series Damages, looks as if she could have stepped straight out of a 1960s Academy Awards party. I love the color, love the embellishments, and love the cut - even if it looks a tad big on her.

Jennifer Love Hewitt, star of The Ghost Whisperer, hit the red carpet tonight with her beau Jamie Kennedy. She looked radiant in an ethereal lemon gown by Max Azria. This is exactly the sort of dress I wish I could see on Angelina Jolie - it's exactly the cut she'd wear, but in a fabulous, romantic color. Love's half-up, half-down hairstyle fits the aura sweetheart dress perfectly as well.

| 30 Rock actressKatrina Bowden is friends with Project Runway alum Christian Siriano, so it's not entirely surprising she wore a custom design of his to this year's Emmy Awards. Bowden shines in the vibrant teal, despite a messy side-ponytail bringing the look down.
